Meet the New CMT Kids Leadership Team

Meet the New CMT Kids Leadership Team

There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes at CMT Kids recently!

With new faces joining us and a few leadership changes, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce ourselves and share a little more about the team leading the way forward.

Say hello to Sam, Sophie, and Vicky!

Our new leadership team is made up of three familiar faces: Sam, Sophie, and Vicky.

Each of them has been part of CMT Kids for many years and brings energy, experience, and passion for supporting young people living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT).

Sam first came along to a CMT Kids weekend in 2014, Vicky back in 2013, and Sophie has been part of CMT Kids since 2007.

Between them, they’ve taken part in countless activity weekends, day trips, and online events. They’ve also been leading on weekends for several years already, so stepping into these roles is a natural next chapter.

Why this matters

CMT Kids is all about connection, confidence, and community. For many young people, coming to a weekend or event is the first time they meet others their age who understand what it’s like to live with CMT. Having leaders who’ve grown up within the community and know first-hand what those experiences mean makes a huge difference.

Sam, Sophie, and Vicky aren’t just leaders of CMT Kids; they’re also members of the CMTUK Board of Trustees, helping to shape the wider charity’s work and ensure young people are always part of the conversation.

Looking ahead

The team is excited for what’s to come, especially the upcoming Big Kids Weekend in November, which has already sold out! These weekends are a highlight of the year, filled with activities, friendships, and memories that last a lifetime.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible team of volunteers who give their time and energy to make every event special. A huge thank you to each and every one of you!
